High-Country Health Food and Cafe in Mariposa California

April 24, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 3:42 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff logoRancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a residence on Cameo Street, in Rancho Cucamonga, for a man who stabbed himself.  Deputies arrived at the location and found Hunter Barry in the backyard of the residence, suffering from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds to the neck area.  When deputies attempted to contact Barry, he ran away.  Deputies pursued him, detained him, and handcuffed him.  Deputies immediately provided medical aid until Rancho Cucamonga Fire personnel took over.  Barry was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division was notified and assumed the investigation.  An autopsy will be done to determine a manner and cause of death.
