Fatal Traffic Collision in Poway 

April 28, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 12:56 a.m., deputies san diego county sheriff department logofrom the Poway Station responded to a report of a collision involving a solo vehicle that occurred at Pomerado Road and Kaitz Street, in the City of Poway.

Preliminary information indicates the 51-year-old driver struck a concrete barrier near the intersection.  The driver was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by Poway Station Traffic Investigators and the Medical Examiner's Office.   

It is unknown if the use of alcohol or drugs is a factor in this ongoing investigation.
