Suspect Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
May 3, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on April 29, 2025, at approximately 11:20 P.M. (2320 hours), deputies with the Moorpark Police Department responded to Simi Valley Hospital for a report of a battery. Deputies contacted an adult male who reported being attacked by (S) Francisco Fernandez along the 100 block of Moorpark Avenue. During the encounter, Fernandez struck the victim in the head with an unknown object and tried to run the victim over, using his vehicle. Deputies located the crime scene at a Moorpark apartment complex and evidence was collected. Evidence was located at the scene linking Fernandez to the felony battery.
On May 1, 2025, detectives with the Moorpark Special Enforcement Unit and Moorpark Investigations Unit located Fernandez at his place of work and arrested him for the felony battery.
