Fatal Traffic Collision 

May 8, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on May 6, 2025, at approximately 4:04 P.M. (1604 hours), Ventura County Sheriff logodeputies responded to the area of Via Las Brisas and Calle Del Prado, in reference to an injury traffic collision. Upon arrival, it was determined two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection. After the collision, one vehicle spun out and the other continued about 250 feet north of the intersection before coming to rest.

Paramedics and Firefighters responded to the scene and performed life saving measures on the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles. The driver and the passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The other driver sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The cause of this collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau.

Next of kin notification was made by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. The decedents were identified as 77-year-old Alejandro Ramirez and 73-year-old Maria Ramirez from Newbury Park.
