Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested 

May 9, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, May 4, 2025, about 5:20 a.m., deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 3900 block of South Temescal Street, in the unincorporated area of Corona, known as Home Garden. The victim stated he was assaulted and shot by two suspects who fled the area before deputies arrived. The victim provided a description of the suspects and was later transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies canvassed the area and located evidence of the shooting. Lake Mathews Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Investigators identified the suspects as Juan Manuel Lopez Jr., a 42-year-old, and Alexandro Lopez, a 38-year-old, both residents of Corona. With assistance from the Riverside Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau, a search warrant was served at their residence. Investigators located a firearm, ammunition, and other evidence pertinent to the case.

On Monday, May 5, 2025, at about 3:30 p.m., Alexandro Lopez was located in the 100 Block of North McKinley Street in Corona, where he was taken into custody without incident. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Juan Manuel Lopez Jr. turned himself in to deputies at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Juan and Alexandro were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit attempted murder, and felon in possession of a firearm. This investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
