Homicide Investigation 

May 24, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 23, 2024, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a residence located in the 2000 block of Whispering Bells Road, San Jacinto, regarding a 4-month-old not breathing. Deputies arrived on the scene and began lifesaving measures. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. During the investigation, several injuries were located on the juvenile. Based on this information, the Riverside Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit was requested to assume the investigation.

Over the next several days, the juvenile’s condition continued to deteriorate, and the juvenile was pronounced deceased on August 29, 2024. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit then assumed the investigation.

After extensive investigation by investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and Special Victims Unit, and with the assistance of the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau, it was determined the juvenile died as a result of homicidal violence.

On May 23, 2025, Alejandro Cuevas (pictured), a 40-year-old male from Beaumont, who is an associate of the juvenile’s family, was arrested for murder and booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility.
