Hit and Run Diver Arrested
May 28, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 4:50 p.m., the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputies responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a golf cart and a vehicle at Canyon Lake Drive and Gray Fox Drive in the city of Canyon Lake. Upon arrival, deputies located two injured female adults who were treated at the scene by the Canyon Lake Fire Department and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, it was determined that a black Kia SUV collided with the golf cart while both vehicles were traveling southbound on Canyon Lake Drive. The black Kia SUV fled the scene, and witnesses stated that the driver was an adult female. The Lake Elsinore Station's Traffic Team worked diligently, processing evidence and following up with leads provided by the witnesses and citizens of Canyon Lake.
Deputies identified the suspect as Misty Farrand, a 41-year-old resident of Canyon Lake. On Monday, May 26, 2025, Farrand was arrested and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center for felony hit and run.
