May 28, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on May 7, 2025, at 5:32 p.m., a school resource deputy with the RCSO contact VegaRiverside Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Station, responded to a school in the 29000 block of Mira Loma Drive in the city of Temecula to investigate allegations of a teacher having inappropriate contact with a student. The school subsequently placed the employee on administrative leave. Members of the Riverside Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit assumed the investigation.

Investigators determined that George Vega, a 57-year-old resident of Temecula, had inappropriate contact with the student. On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Vega was arrested in the city of Temecula by Special Victims Unit investigators and was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for child annoyance and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
