Deputies Respond to a Call of a Man Brandishing a Gun at a Person and a Lethal Force Encounter Occurs 

June 1, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 7:41 p.m., deputies from the Highland station responded to a service call regarding a man brandishing a firearm at a person on East Baseline Road. Upon arrival, deputies found Jacobo Hernandez in his vehicle, armed with a gun.

Deputies ordered Hernandez to exit the vehicle, and he refused. A lethal force encounter occurred during the incident, and Hernandez was struck by gunfire. Deputies provided medical attention and requested emergency medical personnel. Hernandez was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No deputies were injured during the incident.
