Arrest Made in Child Annoyance Case 

June 4, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on May 31, 2025, the Southwest Sheriff’s Station received a report of a child annoyance incident and the display of harmful matter to a minor, which occurred in the 40000 block of Winchester Road in Temecula. The reporting party indicated that several juvenile victims were approached by a suspect, who exhibited harmful materials and engaged in inappropriate conduct with them in a public setting.

After further investigation, deputies identified the suspect as 32-year-old Joshua Michael Wafer, a resident of Hemet. Deputies later located Wafer at his residence and placed him under arrest for child annoyance, exhibiting harmful material to a minor, and committing a felony while on bail.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office believes there may be additional victims of similar crimes involving Wafer. Anyone with information regarding the investigation can contact Deputy Kevin Au at (951) 696-3000.
