Law Enforcement-Related Injury in Central Division

June 20, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the (LAPD) Force Investigation LAPD logoDivision is investigating a Law Enforcement Related Injury (LERI) that occurred in Central Division.

On June 14, 2025, around 5:45 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers from various divisions were deployed to a planned protest in Central Area. During the event, the crowd began assaulting officers by throwing objects, including rocks and bottles. Officers discharged less-lethal munitions, and an individual later identified as 29-year-old Marshall Allen Woodruff was struck on the right side of his face.

The Los Angeles Fire Department transported Woodruff to a local hospital, where he was treated for an injury to his right eye and right cheek. Woodruff was subsequently admitted to the hospital for post-operative care.

Force Investigation Division (FID) was notified of Woodruff’s hospitalization and is investigating this incident.
