Man Arrested for Attempted Vehicle Assault 

June 20, 2025 – Grass Valley, CA – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Shakti Gil Guillemet, 35, was arrested for assault - CA Penal Code 245(a)(4) on June 16 after he reportedly tried to strike another man with his vehicle in a business parking lot in the 13000 block of Highway 174 in Grass Valley. The victim was able to jump out of the vehicle’s path before Guillemet fled the scene.

After receiving a 911 call at 2:37 p.m., deputies of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) responded to the scene and learned a verbal altercation between the duo had occurred and escalated to reported threats of violence by Guillemet, followed by the attempted vehicle assault. Guillemet fled the scene following and a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) was issued to all local law enforcement partners with a description of the suspect and his associated vehicle.

By 3:39 p.m., a vigilant NCSO deputy spotted the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 49 and initiated a high-risk traffic stop with backup support provided by fellow NCSO deputies and Nevada City Police Office officers. Guillemet was subsequently arrested without incident and booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.

This case remains under investigation.
