Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested 

June 21, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report on June 19, 2025, at 3:06 p.m., deputies RCSO Zarrien Streetsfrom the Riverside Sheriff’s Hemet and San Jacinto Stations responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 45000 block of Highway 74 in the unincorporated area of Hemet.

Deputies arrived and located an adult male with injuries consistent with a stab wound. The victim identified the suspect who stabbed him as Roman Neely, a 30-year-old resident of Hemet. Neely was located and taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hemet Station investigators were contacted and assumed the investigation. A search warrant was authorized and served at the residence, where evidence of the stabbing was located. Neely was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
