Mutual Aid Search and Rescue Operation 

June 23, 2025 - Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday, June 19, 2025, at 1:00 a.m., the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Hemet Station received a report of a 61-year-old male who had gone missing under unknown circumstances from the 38000 block of Overton Road in Sage. A search operation was immediately launched and continued for three days.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the missing man was found alive and in stable condition in the Sage area. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. He was later reunited with his family.

Mutual aid was provided by several county and state search and rescue teams, including those from Orange County, San Diego County, San Bernardino County, and a state-level team. Special thanks go to the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit, Desert Search and Rescue, Bear Valley Search and Rescue, West Valley Search and Rescue, Victor Valley Search and Rescue, Rim of the World Search and Rescue, San Diego Sheriff Search and Rescue, and the San Diego Mountain Rescue Team for their dedicated efforts.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to always check weather conditions and be prepared when entering mountainous areas, as weather can change rapidly.

This case is still under investigation and no additional information is being released at this time. The search operation required a temporary closure of the Overton Road area in Sage. The area is now open to the public.
