July 1, 2025 – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday, June 26, in the early morning hours, detectives conducted a traffic stop on 32-year-old Mariano Antonio Cruz and 29-year-old Carlos Osorio Cruz. A large quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine was found in the vehicle. Three associated search warrants were served at residences in Santa Maria and Orcutt.

At the conclusion of the search warrants and the traffic stop, detectives had seized approximately 36 pounds of methamphetamine and 8 pounds of cocaine. As a result, detectives arrested Mariano Antonio Cruz and Carlos Osorio Cruz and booked them at the Northern Branch Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine for sale, and transportation of cocaine for sale.
