Organized Retail Theft Operation 

July 12, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 10, 2025, deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s riverside county sheriff logoStation Special Enforcement Team and Robbery Burglary Suppression Team, in collaboration with loss prevention personnel, conducted a retail theft operation in the 3100 block of Case Road, Perris. The operation was designed to proactively address retail theft and ensure the safety and well-being of both businesses and shoppers in the area. Throughout the operation, several individuals were observed stealing merchandise. Each suspect was apprehended and arrested without incident.

The following is a list of persons arrested during the operation:

  • Miguel Corona, 40-year-old resident of Perris, arrested for petty theft with priors.
  • Edward Bryant, 58-year-old resident of Perris, arrested for probation violation and petty theft.
  • Edgar Reyes, 38-year-old resident of Perris, arrested for grand theft.
  • Michael Fuente, 43-year-old resident of Perris, arrested for burglary.
  • This effort highlights the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Perris’ continued commitment to addressing theft-related crimes that negatively impact our local businesses and community.

Retail theft operations like this are also supported by legislative efforts such as Proposition 36. It’s important to note that individuals who commit retail theft are subject to arrest and prosecution. Operations like this one are critical in addressing repeat offenders and deterring organized retail crime, while also working with the framework of existing laws to promote both accountability and rehabilitation where appropriate.
