RECKLESS & REPEAT: Drunk Driver Arrested for 7th Time!
July 17, 2025 – Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office officials report that Sergeant Carlin was on patrol in San Martin when a white sedan nearly rear-ended his vehicle at high speed on Center Avenue. The car swerved dangerously, even driving off-road twice! When Sgt. Carlin tried to stop the car, the driver attempted to flee. But he didn’t get far.
Deputies arrested the driver, Junior Bernardino, 28, of Gilroy, near E. Middle Ave. He had:
- 6 prior DUI convictions (4 felonies)
- 13 license suspensions
- A .197 blood alcohol concentration (BAC) — more than double the legal limit
- An open box of Pacifico beer in the back seat
Bernardino’s car was impounded, and he was booked into Main Jail on multiple charges, including DUI.
Drunk driving is dangerous and deadly. This reckless behavior puts everyone on the road at risk. Please DRIVE SOBER.
