Deputy-Involved Shooting 

July 22, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2:46 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a residence in the 35500 block of Shadow Drive in French Valley regarding a domestic violence incident. Sheriff’s Dispatch received information that an armed male was inside the residence assaulting a female and preventing her from leaving with her child.

When deputies arrived, they began making announcements, instructing the occupants of the residence to exit. While doing so, deputies were shot at from a second-floor window, resulting in a deputy-involved shooting. Minutes later, a female with visible injuries exited the residence holding a child. She informed deputies that her husband had shot her and then shot himself.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. Her child was also transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Deputies entered the residence and confirmed the suspect was deceased. The suspect’s identity will not be released at this time. No deputies were injured during this incident. The names of the involved deputies will also not be released.

The involved deputies will be placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with Department policy. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details will be released at this time.
