July 23, 2025 – San Diego Police Department officials report that this past weekend, officers working with our Special Events Team were on duty to ensure the safety of Balboa Park.

As they stood watch, a San Diego Police officer spotted a man walking nearby who matched the description of a wanted violent sexual predator who had been targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

The man was wanted in connection with multiple cases involving the sexual assault of men in the Hillcrest area.

Officers with our Special Events Team sprang into action, took the suspect into custody, and confirmed it was him.

The man was quickly taken to be interviewed by our Sex Crimes detectives and then booked into jail.

He is facing charges of:

209(B)(1) PC - Kidnapping to commit rape

286(I) PC- Sodomy of an intoxicated victim

&

286(C)(2)(A) PC - Sodomy by force

We are grateful to our teams for locating and arresting this predator before another community member could be harmed.
