Missing Person Tragically Found Deceased
July 23, 2025 – Isla Vista, CA – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office officials report that at approximately 11:11 A.M., Sheriff’s detectives located 85-year-old Sonia Lang Crestfield who was reported as an at-risk-missing person on July 14, 2025. Sadly, she was found deceased in the Goleta Slough area.
The Sheriff’s Office activated a Silver Alert for Crestfield who was last seen on July 11, 2025, at approximately 11:30 A.M. (1130 hours), near 6647 El Colegio Road in Isla Vista (Friendship Manor).
This death does not appear suspicious in nature. Cause and manner of death are pending investigation.
