Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested 

July 26, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:18 a.m., deputies riverside county sheriff logofrom the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of an assault in the 16000 block of Angle Canyon Drive, in the unincorporated area of Riverside, known as Lake Hills. The victim stated she was attacked in her home by her estranged ex-boyfriend, 39-year-old Curtis Deshawn Lowe, a resident of Los Angeles. A second victim was also attacked by Lowe; during this attack, the victim defended herself, causing injury to Lowe. Deputies responded to the victim’s residence and took Lowe into custody without incident. Both victims and Lowe were taken to a local hospital, where they received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Lake Mathews Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Through the investigations it was learned Lowe strangled and assaulted both victims. Lowe was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for two counts of attempted murder. This investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
