Vandalism Suspect Arrested 

August 1, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:42 a.m., deputies riverside county sheriff logofrom the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station received multiple reports of vandalism that occurred at a memorial site located in the area of Cajalco Road and La Sierra Avenue in the unincorporated area of Corona, known as Lake Mathews.

Deputies initiated an investigation and identified the suspect as 28-year-old Izaak Carlos Lucero, a resident of Jurupa. During the investigation, deputies determined Lucero had no connection to the descendant but drove to the site and intentionally vandalized the memorial. The family of the descendant estimated the damage to the memorial site was approximately $2,200.

The Lake Mathews Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation, and on July 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., they located and arrested Lucero in the 3600 block of Jennie Street in the city of Jurupa. Lucero was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for felony vandalism. This investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
