Silver Alert Issued for Missing 72-Year-Old Man 

August 6, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the family of Bashir Hamid and the LAPD missing HamidLos Angeles Police Department’s Missing Person’s Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.

On August 3, 2025, around 4:00 p.m., Bashir Hamid (pictured) was last seen at the Los Angeles International Airport on foot. Mr. Hamid does not have a cell phone and is possibly disoriented. Mr. Hamid is believed to be carrying only his US passport with him.

Bashir Hamid is described as a 72-year-old Middle Eastern male with sandy blond/white hair and brown eyes. He weighs approximately 185 pounds and stands 5 feet 11 inches tall. Mr. Hamid was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark blue plaid button-down shirt, black pants and a black baseball cap. Mr. Hamid suffers from dementia.
