Embezzlement Suspect Arrested
August 16, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 24, 2025, at 1:57 p.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to the 17000 block of Multiview Drive in the unincorporated area of Lake Mathews regarding a grand theft. The victim reported that approximately $8,200.00 worth of tools and equipment had been taken from the location by a former employee.
During their investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect as Alex Caballero, a 21-year-old resident of San Jacinto. The Lake Mathews Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed the investigation.
On August 14, 2025, the SET located Caballero’s vehicle in the unincorporated area of Winchester. Deputies initiated a vehicle stop where Caballero was taken into custody without incident. Through investigative leads, deputies located the stolen property at a residence in the 1300 block of Sunswept Drive, San Jacinto. Caballero was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for embezzlement.
