August 17, 2025 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report on Friday, August 15, 2025, at about 5:17 p.m., deputies and medical staff at the West San Bernardino County Sheriff logoValley Detention Center responded to an inmate, Brandon Robinson, who needed medical attention.  Robinson was unresponsive and CPR was performed.  Robinson was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine Robinson’s cause of death.  

Robinson was arrested on July 5, 2025, for PC 368 (B)(1) – Causing Injury to Elder or Dependent Adult and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.  He was later transferred to the West Valley Detention Center where he remained until his death.
