Extensive Investigation Leads to the Arrest of Two Men for Bringing Drugs into a Jail Facility 

August 19, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on July 16, 2025, investigators San Bernardino County Sheriff logofrom the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department discovered Jose Ramirez, an inmate at the High Desert Detention Center, conspired to smuggle drugs into the High Desert Detention Center with another male, Alfred Johnson.

Investigators conducted a thorough investigation, which led to a search warrant that was served on August 8, 2025, at a residence in Hesperia, where various controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were confiscated.

On August 15, 2025, a subsequent search warrant was served at a residence in Victorville, where additional controlled substances, firearms, and drug paraphernalia were confiscated. Johnson was arrested and charged with conspiracy to smuggle drugs into a secure jail facility and numerous other related charges. Ramirez, who is currently in custody, will be suplementally booked for the charges above.
