Axel Trevino faces a minimum sentence of life in prison if convicted as charged 

August 23, 2025 – ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA – A Lake Los Angeles man has been charged in the shooting death of two men and a LADA Lake Los Angeleswoman in a remote area of Northeast Antelope Valley earlier this month.

“This was a ruthless and violent attack that claimed three lives in broad daylight,” District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “All members of our community, in any part of our county, rural or urban, should feel protected from this kind of deadly violence. My office is committed to ensuring accountability and protecting the safety of residents across Los Angeles County. We stand with the victims’ loved ones as they seek justice.”

Axel Trevino (32) is charged with three counts of murder in case 25AVCF01436. He faces special allegations of personal and intentional discharge of a firearm during a specified crime, as well as the special circumstance of committing multiple murders. His arraignment is set for today in Department A1 of the Antelope Valley Courthouse. Trevino is being held on no bail.

On Aug. 17, 2023, at about 4:52 p.m., Trevino is accused of stopping his vehicle adjacent to an SUV containing two male victims that was parked at 215th Street East and Avenue Q in the unincorporated Lake Los Angeles area. He allegedly pulled a gun on the men and shot them multiple times before pulling alongside another car firing several gunshots at the female driver. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. The defendant fled in his vehicle and was arrested on Aug. 19.

If convicted as charged, Trevino faces a minimum sentence of life in prison.

The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Keri Knittel of the Antelope Valley Branch and was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The charges filed in this case are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
