August 27, 2025 – YUBA COUNTY, CA – Yuba County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are commending the outstanding Yuba SO logowork of its Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team, which successfully carried out two narcotics-related operations this past week, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash.

On August 21, 2025, detectives served a search warrant at the 3600 block of Highway 20 as part of a narcotics investigation. During the search, investigators located approximately 6 grams of DMT, along with evidence of a functioning DMT lab. A DMT lab is a clandestine facility where the hallucinogenic compound DMT is synthesized. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) lab team assisted in processing the site. The suspect, 44-year-old David Rhodes, of Yuba County, admitted to manufacturing the drug and was arrested and booked on narcotics charges, as well as an outstanding warrant.

In a second operation on August 25, 2025, the team executed a search warrant at the College View Apartments on North Beale Road, uncovering approximately 80 grams of fentanyl, digital scales, and additional evidence of drug sales. A subsequent search of a storage unit in Yuba City associated with the suspect led to the discovery of an AR-style rifle, a Ruger 5.7 handgun, and more than $22,000 in cash. As a result, 24-year-old Pedro Zazueta Diaz, of Marysville, was arrested and booked on narcotics and firearms charges.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactive enforcement operations that disrupt narcotics manufacturing and trafficking while holding offenders accountable.
