August 29, 2025 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that Sheriff Robert Luna along with Homicide Bureau are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of a 13-year-old boy.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 11:34 P.M., Victim Saith Mendez (MH/13) was fatally shot while waiting for his mother. A suspect exited the rear passenger seat of a vehicle near the gas pumps and, as Saith walked by, shot him in the back without prior interaction.
