September Weisinger Homicide Investigation
September 4, 2025 – Imperial County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, June 30, 2025, the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division responded to the area of Ferguson Road near Senator Wash in Winterhaven, California, in reference to the discovery of a deceased body. The decedent was identified as 34-year-old, September Lee Weisinger out of Winterhaven, California.
Based on the severity of the injuries, the Patrol Division contacted the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Scientific Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
The Imperial County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division has worked diligently to investigate all leads involved in this case. Based on evidence from this in-depth investigation, a criminal complaint was submitted to the Imperial County District Attorney's Office.
On September 2, 2025, the Imperial County District Attorney's Office issued a no bail arrest warrant for 187(a) PC, Murder, for James Andrew Hill, a 56-year-old resident of Yuma, Arizona.
On September 2, 2025, with the assistance of the Yuma Police Department Special Operation Group (SOG), Mr. Hill was arrested on 1st Avenue in Yuma, Arizona and he is currently awaiting extradition to Imperial County.
