Agriculture Property Theft 

September 5, 2025 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Sutter County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of Highway-113 and Varney Road regarding a theft of a Honda water pump that had just occurred. Employees on the property took quick action reporting the stolen property and deputies were swift in their response.

Through investigation, deputies identified the suspect as 55-year-old Dale Hively of Knights Landing. Hively was contacted at his residence and the water pump was located. Hively was taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail for grand theft. The water pump was successfully returned to its owner.
