False Report to Law Enforcement
September 7, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 2:58 p.m.,
deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station responded to the 32000 block of Riverside Drive in the city of Lake Elsinore, regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies requested a lockdown of the location and, with the assistance of the Sheriff's Aviation Unit, conducted a safety sweep of the location and searched the area.
There were no reported injuries or evidence of an assault. Deputies determined there was no credible threat, and the lockdown was lifted. Deputies continue to investigate this incident in an attempt to identify the caller responsible for the false reporting. There are no additional details available at this time.
