Homicide in Ramona 

September 9, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at about 2:35 p.m., deputies from the Ramona Sheriff's Substation responded to the 700 block of Eighth Street in Ramona, reference an assault with a deadly weapon.  Upon their arrival, Deputies discovered an adult individual suffering from traumatic injuries.  Deputies requested paramedics and they arrived soon after.  Unfortunately, the individual succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The decedent's name is not being released at this time, pending confirmation and notification of family members.

Sheriff's Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation, interviewing witnesses, and gathering more evidence. At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation.  

Based on information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.
