Arson in Encinitas
September 13, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that a man has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately starting a brush fire in Encinitas.
It happened on Wednesday, September 10, around 1:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Leucadia Boulevard. The San Diego County Sheriff's Office received a call from a witness stating there was a brush fire at that location.
Deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station, as well as the Encinitas Fire Department, responded to the scene. Firefighters quickly put out the fire. No one was hurt.
Detectives from Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were called to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility. Based on their preliminary investigation, Lucifer Liam (44) was arrested for arson and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit is a regional resource that investigates fires involving suspicious circumstances, serious injury and death.
