Commercial Burglary in San Marcos
September 14, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that as part of an ongoing investigation, the San Marcos Sheriff's Station's Detective Unit executed a search warrant on September 11, 2025, at a residence located in the 1000 block of Oak Drive in the City of Vista.
During the operation, detectives contacted and detained two individuals inside the apartment: Thomas Hebert (41), the resident, and Marley St. John (44). A search of the premises led to the recovery of several items previously reported stolen from a storage unit located at 999 East Mission Road in San Marcos. The estimated value of the recovered property is approximately $400.
In addition to the stolen items, detectives discovered three unregistered handguns with no serial numbers: a Rock Island 1911, Sig 228, and Glock P-80.
Thomas Hebert was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple charges, including:
- 459 PC – Commercial Burglary
- 30305 (a) (1) PC- Felon possession of Ammunition
- 29800(a)(1) PC- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- 29180(c) PC- Possession of unserialized handgun
- 11350 H&S- Possession of Fentanyl
- 11377 H&S- Possession of a controlled substance
Marley St. John was arrested for violation of 11350 H&S – Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was later cited and released from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station.
The investigation remains ongoing.
