Homicide Investigation 

September 16, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 7:41 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 28000 block of Wells Fargo Lane in Lake Elsinore regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located 38-year-old Brian Rivas, a resident of Lake Elsinore, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, Rivas was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office - Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
