Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested
September 21, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on September 19, 2025, at 5:21 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a juvenile in the 40000 block of Winchester Road, Temecula. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, identified as Jacob Paulsen, a 30-year-old resident of Perris, had also sexually assaulted an adult victim during a separate incident that occurred less than two hours prior at a business in the 20000 block of Ynez Road, Temecula.
During the investigation, deputies determined Paulsen was an active sex registrant and on parole for sexual assault. Paulsen was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for lewd acts with a minor, sexual battery, indecent exposure, and violation of parole. A bail enhancement was obtained, and Paulsen's bail was set at $500,000.
