POP Team Uncovers 3D Printing Firearms Operation in Marysville
September 22, 2025 – YUBA COUNTY, CA – Yuba County Sheriff’s Office officials report that earlier this month, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team initiated an investigation into suspected manufacturing of firearms using 3D printing technology and the illegal distribution of those firearms for sale.
On September 19, 2025, the POP Team, with the assistance of the Yuba County Probation Department, executed a search warrant on the 1800 block of Waterfall Drive in Marysville, CA. Inside the residence, detectives discovered a fully operational 3D printing workshop, complete with manufacturing tools. The search also yielded eight handguns, several 3D-printed handgun frames, four assault weapons, one rifle, and assorted firearm parts.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested Uriel Cruz, 19, Eleazar Cruz, 27, and Fortunato Cruz, 38, all residents of Marysville. The suspects were booked into the Yuba County Jail for several firearm-related offenses.
