Officer-Involved Shooting in Hollenbeck Division

September 23, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Hollenbeck Division.
On September 21, 2025, around 12:35 a.m., LAPD Hollenbeck Division officers responded to a radio call in the 300 block of North Myers Street, near the railroad tracks. The radio call reported that a man was armed with an assault rifle and shooting at unknown individuals. Upon arrival, the officers began to search the area when they observed the suspect armed with a rifle, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred. The suspect fled the scene.
Metropolitan Division, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and K9, responded and conducted an extensive search for the suspect with negative results. Rifle ammunition and casings were recovered and booked as evidence.
One officer sustained minor abrasions to his hand and knee when he fell to the ground. No other officers or community members were injured as a result of this incident.
Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
