Homicide Investigation 

September 23, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 11:37 a.m., deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Calle Limon and Genoa Street in Coachella regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon their arrival, the deputies located a male adult lying on the ground suffering from a possible gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures taken by the deputies, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Central Homicide Unit was notified and assumed the investigation. The victim was later identified as Enrique Arrieta, a 51-year-old resident of Coachella. No arrests have been made this time; investigators are working to identify the suspect(s).

This investigation is ongoing, and additional follow-up is being conducted. Currently, no additional details are available for release.
