Arrest Made After Body Found in Trunk 

October 4, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that on September 9, 2025, detectives from The Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, were conducting a follow-up at a tow yard located on the 1900 block of West Gage Avenue in South Los Angeles, related to a missing person investigation. During the investigation, detectives discovered a deceased person in the trunk of a vehicle.

Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division, Homicide Special Section detectives assumed responsibility for the investigation.

On September 16, 2025, search warrants were served at multiple locations related to the investigation. On that same date, Sandra Romo Diaz, a 52-year-old female and resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for California Penal Code Section 187(a) – Murder in connection with the case. Sandra Romo Diaz was booked into a Los Angeles Police Department jail facility under Booking No. 7092730.

On September 18, 2025, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Organized Crime Division, filed one count of California Penal Code Section 187(a) – Murder against Sandra Romo Diaz.
