October 10, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 09, 2025, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigation Bureau opened an investigation into an employee of the Sheriff’s Office after receiving information he was in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The employee was identified as 25-year-old Deputy Dakota Robson. On October 09, 2025, Robson was arrested in the city of Lake Elsinore without incident and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on one count of vehicle theft, one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, and one count of unauthorized computer access.

Robson began his employment with the department in June of 2023 and was most recently assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station. Robson has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
