Arrest / Search Warrant
October 12, 2025 – Lassen County Sheriff’s Office officials report in early September, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a domestic battery that occurred at a residence near SR-70 in south Lassen County. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the victim and observed injuries to her head, neck and chest. The victim reported that her boyfriend, Charles Godkin, assaulted her at their property. Additionally, the victim stated that the altercation escalated when she attempted to leave the property with her firearms. The victim reported that Godkin took her firearms by force and left with them prior to law enforcements arrival.
Deputies made several attempts to contact and arrest Godkin for domestic violence but were unsuccessful. As a result, the case was turned over to the Investigations Unit. Investigators contacted the victim and learned Godkin’s daily routine. Moreover, Investigator’s reviewed Godkin’s criminal history and learned that he was a convicted felon. As a result, investigators obtained a search warrant for Godkin’s property and set up surveillance on his residence.
On October 6, 2025, a warrant service team which consisted of deputies from LCSO and officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) set up surveillance and waited for Godkin to leave his residence. At about 4:40 A.M. (0440 hours), Godkin was observed driving his vehicle eastbound on SR-70 and deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Godkin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility.
Afterwards, deputies executed a search warrant at Godkin’s property. Deputies located 18 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, body armor and methamphetamine. In addition, deputies contacted Timothy Foley at the property and searched his trailer. There, deputies discovered two additional firearms, methamphetamine and psilocybin mushroom (shrooms). A check of Foley’s criminal history showed that he was also a convicted felon. As a result, Foley was arrested and booked into jail.
Charles Godkin was arrested on the following charges: Domestic battery, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, grand theft of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Timothy Foley was arrested on the following charges: Felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
