October 20, 2025 – Sacramento County Sheriff's Office officials report that at approximately 12:00 noon on Sunday, North Patrol Deputies responded to a call for assistance from the Fire Department at the Jack in the Box on Marconi Avenue, where a man was reported unresponsive following an assault.

When Deputies arrived, they learned that an adult male victim had already been transported to a local hospital. Another adult male was detained nearby after witnesses reported the two had been involved in a physical altercation.

The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives have taken over the investigation. At this stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made, and the case remains ongoing. The individual who was previously detained has been released.
