Fatal Traffic Collision Involving a Fleeing Motorcyclist
October 27, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:29 p.m.,
deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station attempted to stop a motorcyclist in the area of Highway 111 and Deep Canyon Road, Palm Desert, for a vehicle code violation and for reported suspicion of driving under the influence. As deputies attempted the enforcement stop the rider fled at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit terminated in the area of Country Club Drive at John Sinn Road in Rancho Mirage, when the rider drove through a red light and collided with a vehicle in the intersection. Deputies and medical personnel performed life-saving measures, but the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other persons, including the vehicle’s occupants, were injured.
The identity of the motorcyclist will be withheld pending notification to the next of kin. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
