October 27, 2025 – Sacramento County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday afternoon, Central Division Patrol Deputies responded to reports of 32-year-old Duke Van Le holding two handguns and threatening family members inside a residence on Daylight Court in South Sacramento. Le was a convicted felon still inside the home with his parents and a 6-year-old niece.

Deputies quickly established a perimeter and were able to evacuate Le’s parents and niece.

With assistance from SSO K9 and UAS units, Elk Grove Police Department, and CHP, containment was maintained while the Bearcat was positioned on scene. Before deputies could even issue PA announcements, Le exited the residence and surrendered peacefully.

Deputies later executed a search warrant at the home and located two loaded handguns and three bottles of illegal narcotics. One of the guns was unregistered, and the other was reported stolen out of Stockton.

Le was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple firearm and narcotics-related charges, where he remains on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 28. His booking photo is unavailable for public release, as his crimes are considered “non-violent” (per California law).
