Arrests Made Following Sexual Assault and Weapons Investigation 

October 30, 2025 – Yuba City, CA – Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 25, 2025, deputies from the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a sexual assault and an assault with a deadly weapon in the 800 block of South Barrett Road. The on-call detective was notified, and the case was turned over to the Investigations Unit.

On October 29, 2025, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail Team, in coordination with the Investigations Unit, executed a search warrant at the residence. Investigators recovered a total of four firearms, including a rifle and a semi-automatic handgun without serial numbers, two additional handguns, and a 30-round rifle magazine loaded with armor-piercing ammunition. Evidence related to the assault and firearm discharge was also collected.

Following the search warrant, three individuals were taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail.

Dartagnan Owen, 20, charged with oral copulation by force or fear, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm, and rape of a person prevented from resisting by intoxication or a controlled substance.

Shyann Braiser, 20, charged with assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).

Shaun Braiser, 50, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm, and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.
