Suspect Arrested for Theft of Trailer
November 2, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on October 17, 2025, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s
Station received the report of a stolen mobile detailing trailer. The victim reported that the trailer, valued at approximately $12,000, was stolen on October 16, 2025, from the 39000 block of Vista Del Sol, Rancho Mirage.
Deputies assigned to the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as Justin Myles John, a 45-year-old resident of Yucca Valley. The investigation revealed that John stole the trailer and sold it to an unsuspecting buyer.
On October 31, 2025, with the assistance of the Indian Wells and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Teams, a search warrant was served at John’s residence located in the 7000 block of Murray Lane, Yucca Valley. John was located and taken into custody without incident. During the service of the warrant, deputies located and seized an unregistered firearm and ammunition. John was booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for vehicle theft and multiple firearm-related offenses.
Deputies continued investigating the location of the stolen trailer. The trailer was located and ultimately returned to the rightful owner. A separate investigation into the fraudulent sale of the trailer remains ongoing, and additional charges will be filed at a later time.
