Suspect Arrested for Theft of City Property 

November 3, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, October 24, 2025, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff Station’s Special Enforcement Team began an investigation into the theft of equipment belonging to the city of Jurupa Valley. Deputies contacted the victim, who advised that on October 23, 2025, while working at a city event in the 8900 block of Limonite Avenue, equipment valued at approximately $ 5,000 was stolen. The victim searched the area but was unable to locate the equipment and contacted the Jurupa Sheriff’s Station to report the theft.

During the course of the investigation, deputies reviewed video surveillance footage of the area. While reviewing video footage, they saw the suspect take the item and leave the location without attempting to locate the owner. The suspect was later identified as Efren Samano, a 40-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, deputies located Samano in the 8800 block of Limonite Avenue, Jurupa Valley, where he was taken into custody without incident. The stolen equipment was ultimately recovered and returned to the city of Jurupa Valley.

Efren Samano was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for grand theft. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further details will be released. Anyone with information regarding this case can contact Sergeant Brent Ruiz with the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2600.
