November 23, 2025 – Modoc County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are aware of an inappropriate video circulating on social media involving two of our dispatch personnel. As the Sheriff, I understand that some members of the public may have already seen this video and I sincerely apologize for the concern it has caused.

The behavior displayed in the video is unacceptable and does not reflect the mission, values, or professional standards of the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Office personnel are held to a high level of professionalism and conduct both on and off duty and I take this matter extremely seriously. Without stating the obvious, I am disappointed in the conduct of the involved personnel.

Due to the inappropriate nature of the video, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing or reposting the video. I ask the community to respect the privacy and dignity of all individuals involved.

An internal investigation is actively underway in cooperation with the Modoc County Human Resources Department. Appropriate personnel actions are being taken in accordance with county policy and applicable law to prevent any such recurrences. As this is an ongoing personnel matter, no further details can be provided at this time.
